Walled Kitchen Garden available for hire, putting up your own choice of Tipi/Marquee or Yurt
This magnificent 160 seater yurt marquee could accommodate so many different kinds of events.
In a stunning rural location the yurt marquee was located in a raised setting with panoramic views over the Penbedw Estate (pronounced Penbedoo). It is remarkably easy to get to - just 30 minutes from Chester and one hour from Manchester. Access from the main road is simple and of course there is ample car parking.

Sadly we have removed the wedding yurt leaving a suitable space for a Yurt/Tipi/Marquee etc from May through to Oct suitable for any event. Weddings can also be hld be held in Marquees over looking the pond by the farm house ). IThe site is situated in 4 acres of old kitchen garden on the Penbedw Estate, over looking the parkland. It is a blank canvass for any one wanting to hold a wedding or event, ie choosing your own theme, caterers, tables/chairs, music no corkage etc. We are licensed to hold weddings here . We have alcohol and noise licence until 1am. Pretty much anything goes here with a further 30 acres of parkland, and can hold bigger events up to 5000 people, if needed. We are 30 minutes from Chester and 1 hr from Liverpool and Manchester, 2hrs by train from London to Chester- transport can be arranged with prior notice . ACCOMMODATION - on and around Penbedw we can accommodate roughly 40 people, not including bell tents which can be provided with bedding and blow up beds with prior notice.
Penbedw Uchaf - Welsh Farmhouse built in 1652, is situated on the right hand side of Penbedw Estate, 3 large fields above the Event yurt, access by lane. Perfect for accommodation for either the bride or grooms guests, where they can kickoff their shoes, pour themselves gin and tonic, and relax, ready for the big day! We have 5 rooms, three twin and two double bedrooms and two bathrooms, neither en suite. We provide breakfast either in or out depending on the weather, and can with prior notice provide dinner/lunch. Our previous brides have also chosen to use the shoot lodge room ( at a small extra cost), which can seat 22, ( all crockery, glass, serving dishes etc provided), with a small well equipped kitchen available for you to bring your own pre prepared dishes, where family and friends can gather on the Friday night, to start the celebrations!

Alt local accommodation - Station Lodge sleeps 9, and is situated at the bottom of the back drive to Penbedw and Henfaes which is situated above the farm house, barn sleeps 6, and annex sleeps 2 , both with their own bathrooms and kitchens with a large sitting room/play room connecting the two - situated 5 mins from the wedding event yurt.
The Beaufort park hotel - 106bguest rooms - is 10 min drive from Penbedw and has masses of rooms, and transport can be provided too and from the wedding site either in taxi or mini bus or coach for large parties.
Plas Haford Hotel - 11 en suite rooms- is situated on the other side of Mold 20 mis from Penbed, again, taxi service can be provided.
Grosvenor Hotel, Chester city centre- 30mins from Penbedw- 80 plus rooms. Private transport can be provided

It all started when…
We decided to hold an event for 100 people, which we called Archdale Olympics- lots of fun and silly games, pairing off people in advance, great for corporate do’s . Everyone arrived on the Friday night from all parts of the country, to enjoy a welcome bbq and get to meet the team, sleeping in bell tents provided. Breakfast is then served in the courtyard marquee followed by fun and games, with festival music to help you on your way! Big drinks party with delicious canapes followed by two course dinner/prize giving and dancing till the early hours… Finishing off with a hog roast bap/salad lunch before you head home to recover! We have now had 5 of these events, any theme is possible, toga, fancy dress etc so proving that it is something that is appealing to most age groups.

We run a simulated clay shoot here too and can provide instructors, guns, tuition etc for those who need it. 4 x 4 driving over a 2,500 acre estate, will keep you busy and enthralled.
Stag and Hen parties up at the 2 yurts at the top of the mountain, sleeping a max of 6 in each one… you can make as much noise here as you like …. use of the shoot lodge for meals which can be provided with prior notice. Snowden zip wire and caves etc 50 mins, Bala - white water rafting and Bala lake 45 mins away, Chester 30 mins and Liverpool 1hr. We have a list of suitable transport to get you too and from, so you can enjoy the night life to the full……!
Retreats in the farm house for those wanting to get away from it all, helped by our fitness instructors, Helen our beauty therapist, for groups of 5-10 people, dates to be confirmed by mid December for 2020.
Penbedw is beautiful at all times of the year, so we welcome artists who might want to stay in the yurts or farm house and paint in the Super yurt or take themselves and their off easles into the Clwydian range……

It is the vision of owner and operator Damian jones who says such a place is 20 years in the making. He has been rehabilitating problem horses here in the UK, throughout Europe and across the USA throughout this time. And is considered one of the best in the world at what he does. He explains the energy techniques used within this work has led not only to the horses benefitting but the owners too... And therefore it has been a natural progression into working with people, helping with things such as depression.. Anxiety.. Confidence.. Trauma etc and furthermore conditions such as autism and varied disabilities.
Pendragon will offer a whole range of services.. From one hour discussion sessions to full 5 day retreats, horse riding to meditation and everything in between.
